The Uí Mháine Historical Society is hosting a lecture Michael Davitt by Bernard O'Hara, Registrar of the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, who has published a concise illustrated biography entitled Davitt, available from Mayo County Library. The lecture will be held at Ballinasloe Library, on Monday, December 11th, at 8pm.

Bernard O'Hara's previous publications relate to the history and heritage of Co. Mayo. He is president of the Galway Archaeological and Historical Society.

An exhibition on Michael Davitt, compiled by Mayo County Library, will be available for viewing at Ballinasloe Library during the month of December also.
